Use the email provider check to look for a recognised mail host in a domain’s MX records. Provider recognition helps you inspect routing; it does not establish that a particular mailbox exists or accepts mail.
Open the email provider check. Enter a domain or full email address. Extended API calls use your Spotzee credit balance; see pricing for current rates.

Look up a provider

1

Enter the domain or address

For API access, submit email_domain to the email provider check endpoint. When you provide an address, the part after @ is used as the domain.
2

Inspect a recognised match

A recognised provider returns data.exists: true, data.emailProvider and data.mxRecord. The lookup checks the first returned MX record; it does not sort the records to select the lowest preference value.
3

Investigate an unrecognised result

data.exists: false can mean that no provider pattern matched, even when MX records exist. It does not prove the domain cannot receive email. Use MX lookup to inspect the records directly.
An MX record can point to a gateway or forwarding service rather than the final mailbox host. Treat the detected name as a routing clue. Do not remove contacts solely because a provider was not recognised. A provider check concerns incoming mail routing. It does not identify which platform sent a marketing message. For address assessment, combine syntax validation, the temporary email check and email validation according to your task.
