What is url verifier?
A URL verifier — sometimes called a URL checker or link checker — sends an HTTP request to a web address and checks whether the server responds, confirming the URL is live and reachable. It tests the connection at the network level: resolves the domain, completes the TLS handshake and waits for a response before returning a pass or fail result.

02 · Process
How it works
- 1Enter a URL.Paste the full HTTPS web address — including the
https://prefix. The tool only accepts HTTPS URLs. - 2Resolve the domain.The tool looks up the DNS records for the URL's domain to confirm the domain exists and resolves to a server.
- 3Attempt a connection.An HTTP request is sent to the URL. The tool completes the TLS handshake and waits for the server to respond.
- 4Read the result.A pass means the server responded — the URL is live. A fail means no response was received within the timeout window.

Why it matters
A broken link in an email campaign is one of the most avoidable problems in email marketing. When a recipient clicks a CTA button and lands on a connection error, the experience damages trust — and that click will never convert. Broken unsubscribe links are worse: they are a compliance risk under CAN-SPAM and GDPR, where a working unsubscribe mechanism is not optional.
URL verification is most effective as a pre-send gate. Before any campaign goes live, every link in the template — CTA buttons, unsubscribe URLs, tracking redirects, image sources and footer links — should be confirmed as reachable. Common ways to use this tool
- Pre-send campaign link audit. Check every URL in an email template before the campaign goes out to confirm all landing pages, CTA buttons and unsubscribe links are reachable.
- Unsubscribe link verification. Verify unsubscribe URLs resolve before sending — a broken unsubscribe link is a compliance risk under CAN-SPAM and GDPR.
- Custom domain validation. Confirm a newly configured domain or subdomain is live and accessible before referencing it in a campaign or advertisement.
- Third-party link checking. Check URLs from affiliate links, partner content or user-submitted links before including them in outbound email.
- Landing page uptime check. Quickly confirm a landing page is online before directing traffic to it from a campaign, ad or social post.
05 · Interpretation
What to check in the result
- Fail result on a URL you know is live. Some servers block automated HTTP requests from data-centre IP ranges. If the URL works in your browser, the fail is a false negative — verify it manually and treat the connection as confirmed.
- URL uses HTTP instead of HTTPS. The tool only accepts HTTPS URLs. If your landing page is served over plain HTTP, that is itself a problem — any page receiving traffic from an email campaign should be on HTTPS to avoid browser warnings and spam filter penalties.
- URL contains a redirect. The tool tests the URL you enter, not the final destination after redirects. For click-tracking URLs and short links, also verify the redirect destination separately.
- Fail on a freshly deployed domain. DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours. A new domain or subdomain may fail until DNS records have fully propagated globally — wait and recheck before assuming the URL is permanently broken.
- URL is behind authentication. URLs that require a login, API key or IP allowlist will fail from an external check. These need internal verification rather than a public-facing tool.
