01 · Definition

What is synthetic airline data generator?

An airline data generator creates synthetic airline, airport, aircraft, flight number, booking reference and seat values for tests, demos and fixture files. It is useful when travel workflows need realistic field shapes without using live passenger bookings, airline records or operational flight data.

The tool above sends your count, locale, seed, method, record-locator, aircraft-type and flight-number options to the Spotzee Extended API, then renders returned airlines[] records. Use profile for expanded records, or choose one method such as airline, airport, flightNumber, recordLocator or seat. Read the in-depth airline data generator guide for endpoint options, response fields and fixture design notes.

02 · Process

How it works

  1. 1Enter a count.Type the number of airline records to generate, from 1 to 100.
  2. 2Choose a method.Pick profile for expanded airline data, or choose one field method such as airline, airport, flightNumber, recordLocator or seat.
  3. 3Set scoped options.Use record-locator options for locator output, aircraft type for seat output, and flight-number length controls for flight-number output.
  4. 4Generate records. The server validates the count, seed and scoped options, forwards a form-encoded request to /generic/data/generate/airline and renders the returned records.

Why it matters

Travel products often need many related field shapes at once: airline names and two-character airline codes, airplane type codes, airport names and three-character airport codes, booking references, seats and flight numbers. Hand-written fixtures rarely cover enough combinations.

Synthetic airline data gives QA teams controlled variation for booking flows, itinerary screens, import jobs and validation rules. And a numeric seed lets you reproduce the same records after a failed test without storing throwaway travel data in fixture files.

04 · Use cases

Common ways to use this tool

  • Booking form testing. Use it as an airline data generator to populate reservation forms, itinerary previews and confirmation screens.
  • Flight-number validation. Use the flight number generator mode with exact or ranged digit counts to test parser and display rules.
  • Record-locator fixtures. Use the record locator generator mode to create booking reference values with or without numerals and visually similar characters.
  • Airport and aircraft imports. Use airport output and the aircraft type generator mode for import jobs, CSV previews and QA datasets.
  • Repeatable travel datasets. Set a numeric seed so the same airline test data generator output can be reproduced after failures.

05 · Interpretation

What to check in the result

  • Count outside 1 to 100. The API accepts up to 100 airline records per request. For larger datasets, call the endpoint multiple times.
  • Record-locator options on the wrong method. Use number and visually similar character controls only with recordLocator or profile output.
  • Aircraft type on non-seat output. Use the aircraft-type control only with seat or profile output.
  • Exact length mixed with range. Use either exact flight-number length or a minimum/maximum range, not both.
  • Only one length bound set. Send both lengthMin and lengthMax, or leave both blank.
  • Real flight-data assumptions. Generated airline values are synthetic sample data. Do not treat them as live schedules, passenger bookings or verified airline records.
